CRECHEThe unwanted children of the Weyr, those with no parents and those whose parents cannot care for them on their own will usually be found here. Children are housed two or three to a room, and taken care of by creche mothers until they are ready to leave on their own or a guardian comes to claim them. |

KITCHENSOn the ground level of the Weyr, close to the bustle and activity of the many other work and craft areas, are the kitchens. Several hundred people must be fed every day by the work of only a handful, so the food-smelling caverns are always busy. |

DINING HALLLocated just off of the kitchens, the Weyr's dining hall is a large cavern filled with dozens of long wooden tables and benches. Although many prefer to eat in the intimacy of the kitchens, scores of people file into the dining hall each day at mealtimes to enjoy their food with a helping of chatter and company. |

INFIRMARYThe infirmary is located on the ground level of the Weyr, and is easily accessible from the 'bowl. The entrance that leads outside is large to facilitate the entrance of injured dragons and whers too injured to return to their own quarters, although the sick rooms are placed well out of traffic. |
