Basic Site Info
Vaioa Weyr is a semi-canon Pern RP set a bare Turn before the first Threadfall of the 5th Pass. The desert Weyr has a profitable Minehold inside its Bowl that produces pure copper ore for use all over the Northern continent. Vaioa maintains a "realistic" canon feel while keeping a relaxed writing atmosphere. All skill levels and types of characters are more than welcome to join in on our frequent site events. All hatchlings are customized completely for characters through the use of our innovative Candidate Questionnaire. We try to be as fair as can possible when passing out "shinies," but don't doubt that all our dragons are special!
Site Events
Council Meetings are a common event at Vaioa. Weyrwoman Rhyssone likes to keep business updated with Vaioa's ranking Riders and Crafters.
Candidate Lessons are often times all-inclusive writing events. Candidatemaster Merilla and her green Endryth like to involve wingriders of all colors to assist in candidate instruction.
Gathers vary from extensively planned parties to small get-togethers around the keg.
Mating Flights can be hosted by anyone with a female dragon. For gold or garnet riders, these can result in a clutch!
Hatchings of all types appear often around Vaioa. Because of the mines, whers and firelizards are more common than on the rest of the Northern continent.
Bandit Attacks have only just recently become an issue once again at Vaioa Weyr. After fifty Turns of peace, bandits have finally struck the Mines again, causing serious injury to many Weyrfolk as well as kidnapping others.
Mass Healing events are hosted during a bandit attack and Threadfall as support for characters who receive injury.
Sport Colors
Our sport colors were the results of a single mutant queen far in Vaioa Weyr's past, Enthith, the first garnet. She was allowed to clutch, and now her red-hued offspring compliment the original canon quintet.
ARNETSmaller, red-hued golds which are "ranked" under bronze, Garnets can either take Junior Weyrwoman roles or chew firestone and assume the role of a high-ranking fighting dragon.
ERYLLIUMKnown as coppers by those less well-versed in Minecraft's treasures, coppers are a smaller, red-hued bronze ranked below garnets but above browns. Coppers make excellent wingriders, particularly Wingseconds.
REYGreys are a female compliment to brown, ranked below them but above blue. These rose-grey creatures have helped women slip further up the chain of Wing command, since they are often seen as Wingthirds.
HITEOur ninth color, whites follow the canon formula for the color. They are the smallest dragon, and neuter in gender. The appearance of a white dragon is a once in several lifetimes event.
