Hello, friend, and welcome to Solace Weyr, the dead-as-shit Dragonriders of Pern site which was recently liberated from invisible-thread hell. Nobody roleplays here any more, but this place is still pretty great. Feel free to stay a while and admire its quiet beauty.
In the days before the hatching Z'los had found his life mainly composed of free time. Faranth-blessed Meghath had continued to show that his odd behavior did not extend to practice drills, and they had not needed to take on extra duties, to both of their pleasure. Today the pair had offed to the eastern plateau, taking some snacks and an old set of riding straps that needed mending with them.
Meghath quickly fell asleep in the sun, lounging on the wide mostly flat stone. Z'los wasn't sure if other dragons snored, but Meghath did. Strange little half-formed words bubbled in his mind with each breath, making the sensual rider shake his head. Such an odd beast. But he'd never trade him for the world. Oddities or not, he loved that blue.
He tossed the half-mended straps aside for a rest, and lay back, sprawling in the sun. He could feel the restfulness through his link with the blue, and he let it lull him a bit. Life had become so crazy lately. Moments of peace like these...well he wondered how many more he'd get. He reached out, plucking a redfruit from the basket of snacks he'd snatched, and took a thoughtful bite. Hopefully more days of peace than of strife were on the horizon...

Today was boring.
Well, okay, it was gorgeous and she couldn't complain about having too many chores, but with nothing to do, Norra found herself pacing and bored. Listless and slowly getting annoyed, she sighed dramatically, throwing herself onto her bed.
Do you want to go out? Hezzath asked his rider as he shook his head slowly. Throwing a tantrum, having to be let out like a canine... His was very...
"Yes! Please! We should find somewhere pretty. Maybe find someone pretty first?" Hezzath merely grumbled in reply, shoving himself to his feet and watching his rider approach. Once mounted, he lept from the weyr, spreading his narrow wings wide and catching the breeze to lift him into the sky.
They took off in a random direction, floating where the wind took them. Eventually it would bring them to cast a cool shadow over Z'los, Hezzath banking swiftly at his rider's command. OKay, so Z'los wasn't who she had in mind, but hey, distraction.
"Hey there!" she called as she slid off her vibrant dragon, waving cheerily.
Z'los peered up from flat on his back where he was enjoying his redfruit at the sound of passing wings. The plateaus had been deserted when he had come out, and he hadn't expected anyone else to be joining them. Ah well. Couldn't begrudge someone else a little romp. It was a nice spot, and a nice day. And it looked like as luck would have it, he was getting female company. That was a mixed parcel of news. He knew Norra fairly well, though this was one of very few instances where his flirty nature wouldn't help. It was habit to flirt with anything female nearby...He chuckled a bit to himself. Well maybe Norra'd think he was being funny. She had a good sense of humor, he recalled.
"Hey~!" He called back, waving a hand but not bothering to get up from where he was reclining. Lazy days meant lazing about, not hopping up or moving around. He patted the stone beside him, an invitation to sit or lay back. "Great minds thinking alike, as always." He smiled, and flung the core of his redfruit off the side of the plateau. Meghath watched it fall, stretching his neck over the edge to peer down down down. It's gone, Z'los. Gone, gone away. Under the plants and the ground and down the river to where all things lost or cast aside go. Oh. There's a wherry.
Z'los glanced at the cloudy blue and shook his head. Always a strange one, he was. Always. Even as his rider he couldn't never understand him. But he never felt less of the blue for his ramblings. It meant something to Meghath, and so Z'los would defend his right to say whatever he wanted, even if it made no sense. "So what're you two up to, hmm? Just a handsome woman and her dragon off for a fly through the country?"

A bright smile spread across Norra's face as she strode across the rock, taking care not to trip, bridging the gap between herself and the other Bluerider. Taking the offered seat, she glanced at Z'los's little picnic before stretching out, laying down to catch as much of the sun as she could.
"Just getting out. Weyr was getting too cramped. Out here, there's nothing but space." Norra swept an arm out to demonstrate, which would probably come close to accidentally smacking the man upside the head. "Besides, it's gorgeous, figured we'd stretch our legs and wings."
Hezzath, however, seemed content to ignoring the stretching his wings part, flopping down where he had landed and instead stretching out his tail and neck to catch some rays. He glanced at Meghath but didn't approach or say anything. He didn't know the other blue well, and was not nearly as bold as his Rider. Besides, from what little he remembered, he was sure the cloudy dragon would find more than enough stuff to yap about to count for the both of them.
