OUT OF CHARACTER
1. One account per member. We like to know who everyone is.
2. Be respectful to one another. We're all here to have a good time, but not at the expense of other people.
3. Be mindful of others when posting content on the site. Don't post big, obnoxious images, offensive material, or pornography. If you are posting a thread discussing sensitive content, place clear warnings in the title so that other members won't be caught unawares.
4. Activity checks will be posted every so often to keep track of who is still a part of our community. If you miss an activity check, your characters will be moved into the inactive characters board, but the account of any member with at least one character in play will not be deleted without their consent. If at any time you wish to return to us, please inform the staff and your characters will be returned to active duty. Inactive characters who held limited positions (such as the leadership of a Wing) will be considered "retired" from those positions, although they may still earn new positions in the future.
5. The staff are here to make sure that this site is a safe and fun place for everyone. If you have a concern, message one of us in private and we will do our best to be of assistance.IN CHARACTER
1. Use only characters that have been accepted by the staff when roleplaying.
2. Do not control the actions of other members' characters without their permission. Try to be realistic and fair in your interactions with other characters.
3. Be considerate when roleplaying with others. You should ask the people involved before joining any thread that isn't labelled as 'open', or before starting a thread which tags a specific character. When possible, try to keep note of everyone in a thread and make sure no-one gets ignored.
4. When it comes to roleplaying posts, we prioritize quality over quantity. There is no set word minimum or maximum, but your post should be coherent and have enough content for your roleplaying partner(s) to respond to.
5. This site runs on liquid time, meaning that you may post a character in more than one active thread, assuming that the threads don't take place at exactly the same time in-character.
6. Do not post graphic or offensive content in the roleplaying boards. If you are posting a thread with sensitive content, place clear warnings in the title so that other members won't be caught unawares.CHARACTERS
1. Please use the provided outlines when making a character. Follow the length guidelines, and post any unfinished characters in the works in progress board until they are completed.
2. Members begin with a character limit of four characters each. You earn a new slot for every 50 posts you make, up until you have reached 100. After this point, you earn a new slot every 100 posts you make.
3. You may only have three candidates standing for the same hatching at one time. The accepted age for dragon candidates is 14-22 turns. People who are not physically capable of riding or are deemed otherwise unfit for combat may not stand for dragon hatchings. There are no restrictions on who may stand for wher hatchings.
4. Please familiarize yourself with the site canon. Characters are expected to have profiles which reflect the history and culture of the setting.
5. When creating a character, check to see what kinds of characters are being accepted. Different ranks of dragon will have different amounts in which they are able to be created. The same is true of pets. Check the availabilities thread to see what is available for creation.
6. Research is your friend! If you are making a character with significant life experiences that you do not have, spend some time becoming informed about the topic so you can treat it with due respect and nuance. Remember that there may be other members on this site who have actually lived through those experiences, and that their lives are valid and deserving of respect.
7. Please keep an updated list of your characters in the Character Logs board and link to it in your signature. This makes things much easier on the admins when it comes to accepting character bios and keeping track of who has how many characters.DRAGONS & WHERS
1. To Impress a dragon or wher, your candidate must attend hatchings. If a candidate does not attend a hatching, any dragon or wher meant for them will instead Impress either to another character or to an NPC.
2. It is a priority for us to match candidates with dragons or whers that fit them well. Please fill out the candidate questionnaire in order to give the staff a good idea of what sort of partner you would like for your character. In the event that we match a character with a dragon or wher who is completely wrong for them, you can contact the staff up to 48 hours after the Impression took place and request that the Impression be waived, meaning that the dragon will go to an NPC and your character will remain a candidate for the time being. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you aren't happy with your Impression! We would rather deal with the issue right away than have one of our dragons be killed or abandoned due to a lack of inspiration.
3. To host a mating flight or run with a female dragon or wher, contact a staff member to schedule a date. There may be no more than three ongoing flights or runs at a time, and to keep things running smoothly, all flights or runs with clutching females must be concluded within three weeks of starting. For females to rise together in the same IC period is extremely rare, and must be approved by an admin. The owner of the female chooses which of her chasers wins the flight.
4. The owner of a reproducing female does get to choose the paternity of her offspring, however she does not take part in the creation of her clutch or the hatchlings they contain unless that member is staff or has earned the right by way of a contest. The clutcher's player may have a say in the theme of the clutch, however in the end all decisions are up to the staff.
5. Staff-created dragons, whers, and pets are considered to be the property of the player upon Impression, unless the player chooses to reject the bond. Thereafter, the player has final say over how and when their dragon, wher, or pet is used, including whether it is ever adopted out in the event that they leave the site. Staff-created companions may be used off-site as long as proper credit is included, consisting of the creator's username and a link back to the site.
