THE RAT EGGPlaced squarely in the center of the clutch, much to the disgruntlement of several other eggs, the Rat Egg is one of the larger ones in the clutch. It's closer to the middle of the size range than a few others, but is a respectable size nonetheless. Mottled grey-brown in colour, this egg is covered with tiny streaks and flecks of lighter and darker shades. It's not the most colourful of the clutch, but it seems to be flaunting what it's got at least, the occasional glint of silver drawing eyes just when they start to drift away. This egg wants to be the best, and has a bit of a sneering manner about it, especially in regards to the Cat Egg.
THE OX EGGAnother robust-looking egg, the Ox Egg is close in size to its sibling the Rat Egg, which sits nearby. A creamy, off-white colour, it sports large russet patches blotched in uneven shapes over the shell. This egg isn't terribly exciting to look at, although it does have its own charm to it, but it seems alright with knowing this fact. After all, it's what's inside that counts, and whenever it's ready, the hatchling inside of this egg will be completely willing to reveal its true colours through its own actions. Until then it waits, patiently keeping its place amongst its brothers and sisters until the day that it is ready to hatch.
THE TIGER EGGMedium-sized among its siblings, this egg sits on the other side of the Rat Egg, drawing eyes away from its glory-seeking clutch-mate. Although nothing special in the size department, the Tiger Egg makes a stunning spectacle with its fiery orange shell decorated with slashing black stripes. And just as its colourful shell attracts attention because of its intense appearance, this egg will draw candidates to it through the force of its personality. Every bit as colourful as the egg housing it, the restless demeanour of the hatchling within makes itself quite vigorously known, so that those near it can't help but be infected.
THE RABBIT EGGNear the Tiger Egg, but leaning nervously away from it, the Rabbit Egg one of the smaller ones in the clutch. It's a quiet sort, blending into the background with its dappled grey-brown shell. It's sort of a dusty colour, except in one area, where a patch of soft white sits, almost hidden in the sand. This egg just looks small, delicate and soft, although it's just as hard as any of its siblings. Although far from impressive, there is an air of grace and quiet charm about it, if only one would pause to pay attention.
THE DRAGON EGGLarge and impressive, the Dragon Egg is the very largest of the clutch, and sits proudly amongst its siblings, secure in this knowledge. Its glossy shell is lustrous red in colour, here and there darkening to a more bloody tone and revealing what looks like large, pointed scales. The more you look at this egg, the more majestic it seems, even glinting gold at certain angles, just at the tips of the 'scales.' It certainly seems to know how impressive it is, and yet this egg is unwaveringly fair, a selfless protector of the smaller eggs in the clutch who cannot fend for themselves.
THE SNAKE EGGSitting away from the center of the clutch, but not quite at the very edge, the Snake Egg is a medium-sized egg, although perhaps a bit small within that range. At first it looks black, but upon closer inspection the shell is revealed to simply be a very dark, glossy brown. With one of the quieter personalities within the clutch, this egg is a silent, thoughtful type. There's an insightful air about it, as if it notices quite a bit of what goes on around it and thinks everything over within the privacy of its shell, but sometimes it uses its shell as a barrier to those around it. Whether aloof or just shy, this egg doesn't let many past its armour.
THE HORSE EGGThe Horse Egg is one of the smallest, coloured tawny-gold with dark patches and streaks placed here and there over its shell. Cheerful and open, it seems friendly with just about anyone who approaches it, and eagerly draws in new friends whenever any pass by. At its heart it seems a grounded, sensible thing, but there are times when this egg ignores reason and becomes fickle and sulky. Should someone be less than enthusiastic about enjoying its company, it can quickly turn childish, wanting everyone to spend time with it and being dissatisfied with anything less.
THE GOAT EGGThis egg is one of the more nondescript ones in the clutch, being almost completely white, with only a spare handful of brown spots scattered here and there in isolated patches. It's snugly located in the middle of the size range, being neither large or small among its siblings, and seems happy enough to be there. Good-natured and peaceful, this egg seems almost maternal, despite being unborn itself. It may be a quiet, shy thing, but there is nobility there too, and one gets the feeling that there may just be more to this egg than meets the eye.
THE MONKEY EGGAnother small egg, the Monkey Egg is an uninteresting dull tan colour, with a much darker streak traveling up the shell in a wide spiral. It's quite tiny, and really isn't much to look at once you get past the nice spiral pattern, but this egg is far from boring, oh no. Although the outside may be dull to look at, this egg feels quick and energetic, tireless and tenacious and creative, and if it had legs it would certainly be moving because what a waste of time it is to be sitting here in one place doing nothing! This egg wants to learn and grow, and although it is one of the more polite and dignified ones of the bunch, it certainly has no time to be dithering around.
THE ROOSTER EGGThe Rooster Egg is dark, glossy brown over most of its shell, almost black, except for the two patches near its crown, which are vibrant red. It's on the smaller end of medium, drifting towards the slighter end of the scale, although it's easily larger than the Monkey Egg, which it sits next to. If any egg could be called prissy, then this one fits the bill perfectly. It has a feeling of extreme neatness about it — like its neighbour, it is inquisitive and wants to learn, but it would never sink to disorganized means of doing so. Critical, organized, meticulous, and scientific, this egg will have much to do when it finally hatches. It will have to organize its schedule accordingly.
THE DOG EGGThis egg is another smallish one, resting a few steps away from the Rooster Egg. Its shell is a uniform tawny colour, pale enough to blend in with the sand on which it rests, although fortunately not enough to have anyone tripping over it. Easily one of the most likeable of eggs, the Dog Egg is honest and open, eagerly accepting any attention that is given to it without being greedy for more. It just likes company, and is happy with anyone who wanders by, even if they don't really have much in common. This egg simply is, and is content to sit with the rest of its clutch until it's ready to greet the world.
THE PIG EGGAnother little egg, this egg is pale pink over most of it, almost white. A few dark, uneven patches are placed randomly over it, emboldening the pastel tones of the rest of the shell. The Pig Egg is peace-loving and trustworthy, an egg to tell all your troubles to if ever there was one. It seems like it would make a good friend, loyal and patient as it is, but nonetheless it seems both intelligent and hardworking enough to be able to make it on its own, should such a thing be necessary. This egg is just sweet and nice, and shouldn't be overlooked just because it's small.
THE CAT EGGThe Cat Egg is one of the largest in the clutch, second in size only to the Dragon Egg. It looks healthy and is fairly handsome as well, being a dusty brown colour with the same slashing dark stripes that decorate the Tiger Egg. Despite its apparent quality, however, this egg is on the very edge of the clutch, separate from all its fellows. It seems to realize that it has been rejected somehow, and has an aura of resentment seeping from it. It seems to have a particular dislike of the Rat Egg, perhaps blaming it for its isolation or envying the egg's centerpiece status. Underneath the cloud of gloom, however, is an able and charming character who is willing to wait and scheme until it gets what it desires.
