As you will probably have noticed, I am currently the only staff member at Solace at present. This is not a good thing, because one, Spore cannot be online 24 hours of every day, two, she cannot do all the work of the site by herself, and three, she really needs other staff members to discuss plots and other important running of the site things with. So, with that said, I am going to be accepting staff applications for two new admin to help me out.

Please, PLEASE don't look at this and think "I don't want to be That Power-Hungry Person." This isn't some kind of trap to lure out the evil people who want to become admins for nefarious purposes. I would like some fellow staff members because I would really appreciate their help, and as such I will be insanely grateful to anyone who applies. why you are interested: Because I've been with you and this site since you started working on it, basically. Well, almost. I was here as soon as you originally unveiled the original scheme, at least. And I helped with plot ideas and what not and I want to see this place become awesome. Awesome forever.
why you are qualified: Well, graphics wise, I'm not all that qualified but, outside of that... Well, for starters, I'm an OCD anal prick when it comes to organization. I'm good with that. Alphabetical, the most appealing way to organize, etc. All of that. I'm also pretty friendly, I'd like to think. Which is good for staff, yes? I'm also super modest. Yes, but, anyway. I've helped out with quite a few sites before and, I know the basic structure of most? Yeah.
how much time you'd have: I- uh. Well, besides 6:30 – 8 on Sundays and Wednesdays, I'm basically free. I usually do my schooling early mornings, so after that, I have nothing to do. I generally have a bunch of free time. I do my schoolwork on my laptop so... most of my life is on here and yeah. Bunches of time. On a normal day... let's say anywhere from 1 or 3 pm to 2 am. I dunno.

A nice, mid-sized egg, The Tropical Storm Egg seems to think it's large and intimidating, when, really it's not. Dark teal in color, the egg is covered with gray and black clouds all across it, with tiny streaks of light peeking in here and there. Touching this egg will leave you with a strange feeling. The egg itself is soft and wispy, like the wool of a fuzzy herdbeast, and it feels as if you could easily push through the egg with your fingertips if you wanted. The egg leaves you with a bright, bold feeling, however, as if you are the best thing in the world and no one could compare, no one. The little creature in the egg enjoys pushing its own feelings onto others, and, could clearly never get enough of itself. It's an egg candidates will want to touch again and again, if only for that wonderful feeling of confidence.

BLUE VIRITH

“The Poison Dart Blue”

Appearance:
A striking dragon in many ways, Virith is quite large for a Blue, even just recently hatched, he tends to tower over his fellow Blue hatchlings. When he's full grown he'll reach up to 30 feet, nothing compared to the Metallic dragons but, quite large for a Blue. He's not a stocky dragon, though, far from it. This Blue is long and lithe, looking far too feminine for his own good. He's slender with curves only a female dragon should possess, even going as far to have wide hips, perfect for egg bearing. But, he can't bear eggs. Because he's male. This doesn't stop people from mistaking him for a strange female blue, though, at first. But, he's quick to prove everyone wrong for thinking him female, when he begins to speak.

Slender and feminine looking, Virith is a striking dragon just from his build. His hide, however, is the most breathtaking part of this dragon, and, it'd be a lie to say he wasn't handsome. A thick, rich blue color at his base, Virith's hide is coated with different shades of blue and indigo. These different shades look like drips of smudged ink all across his body, and, are quite a sight to see. These colors are beautiful in their own right but, when paired with Virith's other markings, they become “magnificent”, or at least, in Virith's own words they do. To go along with these colors, Virith has dark blue, near black, markings across his back. Little smudges of lines and dots, giving him the look of an exotic frog of some sort. The neon turquoise markings he has only cements this idea of an exotic... something. They start at his headknobs, stretching down onto his chin and then onto his chest. They do not continue onto his underbelly but, instead, stop at his chest and then reappear at the longest “finger” of his wings. His tail is also banded with this color, and, the color once again appears on a marking on his right front leg, looking strikingly similar to a glove.

All in all, Virith is a striking, exotic Blue and, he knows it.

Mind Voice:
Unlike his feminine build, Virith's mindvoice is far from feminine. It's deep and rich, like a warm bath on a cold night, and, very masculine. His mindvoice has en elegant feel to it, as if it would belong to the son of a Lord Holder. It oozes intelligence and vanity, but, in a strange way. It's never gravelly, but, it never stretches into feminine territory, either. It tends to remind others of warmth and wealth, and, more often then not, tries to leave an impression on whoever it's speaking to. It's unique, certainly, but, not as much as Virith's appearance is. In fact, it's a little unsettling to hear such a voice coming from Virith, it feels unnatural to most. So, no matter how much warmth it will bring up in someone's head, there will always be a tiny feeling of uncomfortableness, like an itch at the back of their mind.[/ul]

why you are qualified: Well. Artwise I am not at all qualified, but that's why we have other staff members. I'm ridiculously picky about organization and plots, though, and I actually like reading, accepting, and/or critiquing bios. I like new members, also. And even if I can't make the baby dragons look pretty, exactly, I'm good with descriptions, personalities, names, etc. (I also submit that the Zodiac theme was my suggestion, so I can in fact come up with good ideas. XD)
how much time you'd have: ...A good amount. I have a poor excuse for a life, so I'm usually lurking around online almost all the time. Even at the times when I get a life, let's be honest, I'm still here all the time. During the schoolyear, which starts next week, I'll be gone in the mornings and early afternoons (and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, until around 6 PM), but otherwise I'm around very regularly.

THE SEVEN SWANS EGG

Toward the edge of the clutch, in a groove protected by its mother's tail, the Seven Swans Egg is one of the larger eggs of the group. It seems to be uninterested in the antics of its brothers and sisters, instead choosing to quietly find ways to entertain itself. The egg's pale, brass-colored shell has a definite crinkly appearance, as odd as that may sound, like the well-read pages of a very old book. Candidates may be concerned that if they touch it, the entire egg will just disintegrate beneath their fingers, but upon further inspection, it's not as delicate as it seems. The weary little creature living inside the Seven Swans Egg feels reminiscent, reflective; anyone who lingers for a while with this egg is liable to find him or herself drifting into a haze of old memories. This is a quiet egg, and a graceful one, but above all, it is a lonely one.

APPEARANCE
For a queen like herself, Argentiath is surprisingly little. She'll grow to an adult size of 39 feet -- nothing to sneeze at, of course, but smaller than all of Solace's golds and bronzes, as well as some of its largest irons. In shape, too, this silver is somewhat unusual amongst her fellow metallics. Even for her color, she is particularly slender, and doesn't show much sign of possessing a queen's egg-bearing hips. Although Argentiath is indeed able to clutch, it's likely that she will always lay fewer eggs than the average queen. Her size and body type have their advantages, however, as she is quicker and more agile than golds, as well as the majority of her silver sisters. Graceful with smooth, fluid movements, she looks very at home while in flight.

In color Argentiath is on the darker side, like the shade of a tarnished mirror or an old piece of jewelry. More gray than white, and tinted slightly bronze, she has a comfortingly worn look rather than the cleaner but harsher brightness of some other silvers. At first glance, one might think that her hide is a solid color, with no pattern or decoration, but it's more complex than that. Under certain lights, it becomes clear that Argentiath is literally covered with scrolling swirls of pale blue, snaking over her neck, head, chest, back, limbs, tail, and the dorsal sides of her wings. They're striking and beautiful markings, and they seem to flicker over her form as she moves. Subtle and understated, but no less lovely, the hidden pattern is quite fitting for such an elegant little dragon.

She has none of the flashiness that is commonly seen in metallics; she's not your new gold bracelet, but an antique, sitting with quiet confidence in the jewelry box. Argentiath has no need for theatrics. This young queen is content to simply sit back and let her simple beauty speak for itself.

MINDVOICE
Argentiath's voice is calm and even, and somehow familiar like a child's favorite blanket. It's the kind of voice you feel safe explaining your actions to because you're sure it won't judge you prematurely. Pitched rather low for a female voice, it possesses a richer fullness that higher voices lack. If she is angry, then Argentiath's voice can suddenly grow cold as shards of ice, a tone that actually seems more in line with her silver and pale blue hide. However, most of the time it's softer, and unusually world-weary for a creature so young. Her vocabulary is proper and formal -- her manner of speech shows that she is very intelligent, as befitting a high ranking dragon. These soothing qualities make Argentiath a female with a gift for persuasion. Though people and other dragons will probably not drop everything and rush to do her bidding, she is naturally skilled at bringing others around to her viewpoints.

why you are interested: Well besides the fact that I'm already in love with your site...I really want to see it stay and grab more rpers. Not to mention I have an invested new character here who I'd love to see have lots of new friends to play with. Besides that...I have experience in keeping a site moving with accepting apps and modding. I know how tough it can be to keep a site going when there aren't enough mods and members to make new people want to stay.
why you are qualified: I've been rping for over six years..have admin and mod dutied multiple sites...that failed because of inactivity...I always seemed to be the last mod standing...I’m stubborn like that. I am good at keeping the flow of applications and threads up to speed and I'm one hell of a plot fanatic!
how much time you'd have: Darlings I don't sleep you can use and abuse me I'll be on more than is humanly sane no doubt. So probably around 3-6 hours a day but …to be honest count on more..since I’m ridiculous!

Rock and Rolla Egg
This impressive egg may not be the biggest but she sure is one brightly colored thing! Sitting next to a rather dark and hugely impressive egg the crimson, fuchsia, and orange of this egg make the other look dull in comparison. The lines of the colors seeming to flow jaggedly about the egg as if it was a rock star who decided to put on the craziest outfit they could to woo the crowd. The only dark spot on this egg is a slightly blackened tip off to the side of the very top of the egg. When one walks past they feel the urge to get down to business and be powerful. There is no mistaking this egg is a grab you, use you, and bruise you one. Whoever impresses the dragon inside of here had better be full of energy and strong willed.

Appearance: Vemenoth is a large red, not overly so of course but still rather on the long side for her color. She has long limbs and a tail that could whip the death out of someone if she took a mind to do so. Her dark crimson hide is the deep red of blood that just begins to dry and is brightened to a very true red over her wings and tapers off to a tiny tip of black at each tip. The red of her wings is so similar to that of the red in the sky during early morning and nights that she is often referred to as the Sailors Delight Dragon. There is a joke circulating that if she were to fly up into a red sunset that she would blend in. She doesn’t have the most diverse of patterns but striking unto itself. Her deep red hide is easily spotted in the skies and her tips give her a look of fading out into darkness. Her large eyes are set in a strong wedge shaped head that seems to be a bit on the sharp side, which suits her personality well. Across chest and hips she is strongly built, less slender and more athletic. Her strong legs, while long, are excellent for launching her into the air quickly. Her wingspan is most assuredly not the longest but oh the wonders of a shorter more streamline set of wings! She is incredibly agile in the air and has a wonderful stamina for her size and color. Some peculiar things you should note about Vemenoth are her strange head nobs, they are more sharp than most and are closer to her head than is the average, giving her the look of horns. She has sharp points at the bends in her legs on the outside edges as well. There is also one forepaw that is slightly darker than the others and has more of the patch look to it than the smoothness that is on the rest of her.
A wirery intelligence can be seen in her eye and the way she holds herself would seem to suggest that she is poised to jump or do something unexpected. Her lithe frame is very rarely fully relaxed, unless sleeping , and she had been known to stand watch just out of the pure joy of getting to see others coming and going.

Mindvoice: Vemenoth’s mindvoice hits you like the sun in the middle of summer, hot and rough. It isn’t really unpleasant as it is unexpected to someone unused to such a fiery mind. She is direct, somewhat scattered and often neurotic. Talking in a quick, strong voice that lets you know she means business and you better pay attention. Like most brooding mother types she is always willing to give her two cents and will never fail to admonish someone if they are doing something she thinks is silly or wrong. When speaking to her you can hear the passion she holds for her rider, her weyr, and her brethren. You may also pick up her slightly crazy lack of cohesiveness. Vemenoth may know what she wants to say and how she wants to say it, but that doesn’t mean it all comes out in a very understandable timeline.

Even though my artistic skills have size roughly equal to a peanut, I am an absolute pedant, and so... well, I spot ANY bad grammar or spelling, and, well, I like people (sort of - I can get a bit bitchy, but can't we all?). In any case, I'll happily look over apps for grammar and spelling, etc, for you.

how much time you'd have:

My time would mostly manifest itself during lunch-breaks, a bit after school now that evil after-school teacher has gone and I don't have to stick up for Melissa against her any more and during weekends, since... well, I don't have a social life. Also holidays, unless I meet friends in London. So... yeah. Lots of time due to non-existent social life

THE JOKER TWINS EGG → Large and attention-stealing, right next to the Protective Mother Egg, the Joker Twins Egg does pretty much exactly what the name suggests. It makes jokes. It tries to make people laugh. But it also bolsters up the courage of its siblings (well, the siblings it actually likes and could give two coughs about, at least - the Cowardly Rival Egg can fall off a cliff for all this egg cares. But it cares, so much, about the eggs it cares about and that it is near to. However, it's always up for a joke, and is probably always playing one, too, even on the more imposing and threatening of the group (apart from the Evil Overlord With No Nose Egg - it, like the rest of the Clutch, is scared of that one, despite the ridiculous name), and even the most imposing of the group (apart from the Mourning Professor - nothing can quite get through to that one, although they never really try - too much of a bother). As a result, this egg appears extremely popular - it's got a basically good heart, and it would never hurt anyone, unless they hurt it, or one of the ones it trusts, and that is this egg's personality. Its appearance is much less interesting - one side is a deep red, and the other a deep blue, and they fade in to a deer purple, right from the beginning, so it's impossible to tell with colour is which.

Appearance:

A rich, reddish brown for the most part, Orobieth is positively gorgeous to look at - he isn't a muddy brown, nor a dark brown, nor anything but incredibly handsome, and it is obvious that he isn't going to be a small dragon when he grows up. This is reflected not in his present size, but in the size of his feet, because he really has enormous feet at the moment - disproportionately large, in fact, and they’ll grow with him, as well! It looks like Orobieth is doomed to huge feet, while the rest of him is perfectly proportioned. Maybe he’ll get used to this drawback (to be blunt) with time, and maybe it will help him - or not. Still, the rest of his body is tidy and… even to a human, he looked extremely handsome - he certainly looks as though he would be extremely handsome as a human - the sort to make girls go wobbly at the knees.

Orobieth has certainly got a hide-colour to die for - a rich, mahogany brown for the most part, with a muddy-brown sail on the back of his neck, not detracting in the slightest from his looks. In fact, it makes him almost seem more interesting; more handsome; more elegant, and less like something to make fun of - for, while he is the gentle sort, he is capable of occasional melancholy and, equally, extreme ferocity. Mostly when his closest family is threatened - particularly the Cowardly Sweetheart Blue. Threaten him and prepare for a world of pain. That dragon is Orobieth's brother. In addition to this fascinating hide, however, Orobieth has a neck, spotted with mahogany so dark it might well be back, perfectly completely his appearance and his allure.

Mindvoice:

Orobieth has a London accent. That is what his accent is - not cockney London, mind - just London. Central London, somewhere near Picadilly, maybe. Yeah, probably. In any case, Orobieth has one of the English accents that you don't hear on television - along with Newcastle, it's pretty much unheard of (particularly in America, where all Brits are either from West London, East London or the West Country) everywhere apart from where it originates from. However, this doesn't mean that Orobieth has an unpleasant Mindvoice. Far from it, he has a positively lovely Mindvoice, kind and gentle, but at the same time always happy and ready for a joke (if His wants a joke - he's a pretty good conflict resolver in that way). Certinaly, orobieth has one of those Mindvoices that you'll want to spend a long time listening to, and, since he can talk for two dragons, you'll be able to. Enjoy.

how much time you'd have: I can definitely be on about half an hour a day to do moderating things. Otherwise, you know how I am. And by this, I mean "Obsessive, unless having a panic attack."

La Pieta Egg
Pale and uniform, at first glance, the Pieta egg seems altogether boring. The truth is, however, much deeper. After closer inspection, thin lines and shadows begin to take meaning, and soon, the image is clear. A dragoness holds her crumpled child, and it is dead, laying limply in its mother's mourning claws. the dragoness' head dips in sorrow. the image is clear only so long as you remember it is there, however, and soon the lines and shadows look again to have no meaning. Touching thers egg, however distressing the imagery on the shell is, is distinctly soothing. Striving and desperate to look forward, whoever is inside will take all the horrible things thrown at it, and still be determined to always do better.

Appearance:
Not the largest of Reds by any means, Vayamth nevertheless gives the impression of presence. she is just as whippy as the most delicate of Reds, but its in the way this dragon holds herself with eternal confidence and effort that she manages to seem to outsize herself. Indeed, in physical stature, there is nothing impressive about her. she is proportional to her rank and size, and there are no horrible mutations, nor are there any glorious improvements. she is average, but the way she walks says something else. Vayamth's personality comes out at its most prominant in her steps, the easy way she carries herself forward, the way she considers equally left, right, forward and backwards. she does not judge, she does not blame, she merely walks, and even if she turns around, she is still breaking new ground, discovering new ways to be herself, to be better. she holds her head high, but not with pride or arrogance. she is confident, though, and this she intends to share with those around her, after all, what better way to inspire confidance than to be confident?

In coloration, this Red varies towards the lighter, somewhat pink-tinged end of the spectrum, though again, she does not exit "average" in hue. she appears slightly pink next to "true" Reds, and slightly red next to shers pinker brethren, and neither bothers her. Her hide does not change color at all for that background hue, but her markings, in darker, vibrant garnet-like family hues, are breathtaking. Rough, haphazard "gashes" in her hide might seem alarming at first, but these gashes, rough at the edges, form vibrant pathways along her hide, most notably around her right hip, up and down her tail. Lotus-like patterns emerge from these ragged "cuts" by sher left shoulder, facing forwards beneath her head. Though these are all of her markings, and there is nothing else, Vayamth is certainly a dragon that people could enjoy looking at. With her smooth confidence and her brilliant, if simple and "clumsy" coloring, Vayamth is something to be desired, and she desires to be more.

Driven, Confident, Hopeful, Determined, Simplistic

Mindvoice:
A soft alto, bordering on the tenor range, Vayamth's voice is always even and calm. she speaks with what seems to be just the slightest accent, leaning towards what on Terra would have been called Japanese. Her Rs and shers Ls are always just a little bit muddled, and she can't say the word "world" for the life of her (It always comes out as "wolerd"). Nevertheless, this does not bother Vayamth. It seems that nothing bothers Vayamth, except for the lack of progress. Her voice is always cautiously encouraging, always pushing her Rider to try just a little harder, to do just a little better, because there is always room for improvement. In all, just as with her hide, there is nothing remarkable about her voice. It is merely how she uses it, how she portrays sherself, that young woman (even when she is old and dying) who is always striving to better herself, and the world (or should I say Wolerd) around her.

Appearance:
Aranth isn't the largest blue around, but he isn't the smallest, either; instead, he lies somewhere comfortably in the middle, and he will eventually reach a length of twenty-eight feet when fully grown. While he lacks the larger size of some of his fellows, he more than makes up for it in brute strength. Yes, this blue certainly is a powerful beast, that much is made certain in his muscular, stocky build. A powerhouse that is easily noticed in a sea of blues, he simply doesn't fit the general look that someone would expect of a dragon of his rank and size. In fact, if one had to equate Aranth's build to any other dragon, they would have to admit that it would appear as though he were built more along the lines of a bronze than that of a blue. Long, broad wings support this stocky creature in the air, and a slightly longer tail acts as a fine rudder, still allowing him the sort of maneuverability that one expects to find in his particular color. His legs are thick with corded muscle, and his powerful, boxy head sits high atop an equally powerful neck. All in all, this blue certainly is a sight to behold, striking and unique in every aspect of him.

Deep and almost foreboding, Aranth's coloring is just as unique as the rest of him. The majority of his body is covered in a rich cobalt color, neither too close to violet nor too close to cyan in hue. This deep, beautiful color is almost like the deep color that dominates the sky in the early hours of twilight, rich and unfading as the sky itself. He would be simply beautiful even if this were the only shade that graced his hide, but that just isn't the case; another color adorns his body, one that seems bright when compared to the rest of him. This is a brilliant, radiant azure in color, likened to the color of the clearest water near the shores of the ocean. This brighter shade resides only on certain parts of his body, the clearest markings resting along his back and on his headknobs. Here, clear swirls of azure twine their way along his spine, starting at the base of his skull and ending at the very tip of his long and sinuous tail. Along his head, all four legs, and both wings are bright, small spots of the same azure shade, appearing like the pinpoints of stars in the dark night sky.

Mindvoice:
Deep and gravelly in timbre, Aranth's voice seems like it should cause the listener pain, like the sliding of tectonic plates or the deep rumble of the volcano before it erupts, but this is only nearly the case. Yes, it has the capability to cause pain to those who hear him speak (and often will happen when he's feeling bitter or angry), but for the most part this blue's voice will invoke strength in them. This strength that one feels when listening to Aranth bespeak them is equated to the strength of the mountains in the highest wings or the simple strength of tallest of skybroom trees. There is a raw power behind the blue's voice that seems more suitable for a dragon of a higher rank, but Aranth 'wears' this rather well, and in times of great stress, many will turn to him for this comforting strength that he invokes in the minds of others.
